FAQs

FAQs / Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What types of sessions do you offer?
A. Outdoors we do bootcamps which are inspired by British Army training techniques but suitable for all adults, so no military experience is required. Our indoor sessions are box fit and circuit based. All sessions involve cardio and strength elements.

Q. Do I need to be fit to join in a session?
A. Absolutely not! Our sessions are designed to suit all levels of fitness in mixed groups and you’ll meet people fitter than you, but you’ll also be fitter than others. We’re here to help you get fitter and we all have to start somewhere (please see my own story!). No-one is going to judge you 🙂

Q. When are your sessions?
A. These can vary so please check the Events calendar for availability.

Q. If it’s raining or cold will the session be cancelled?
A. Cancellations are always a last resort! We only cancel sessions due to severe weather, or where the safety of our members could be put at risk.

Q. Where do we meet?
A. This varies depending on the day, please check the Events section for detail. All locations are currently around Droitwich.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. We offer monthly prepaid plans for £30 (£27 for serving & ex-military / blue light personnel) and pay as you go for £5 per session. We’re currently offering the first month free when you sign up by direct debit and you are welcome to try a session for free.

Q. Will I be locked into a lengthy contract if I sign up by direct debit?
A. You are free to cancel at any time 🙂

Q. Can I just turn up and train?
A. All of our sessions require pre-booking to allow us to manage them more efficiently.

Q. How do I book?
A. Please see this page: http://18.135.80.214/how-to-book/

Q. Do I need to bring anything with me to a session?
A. Please bring your own drink in a bottle of up to 500ml

Q. What should I wear?
A. Good quality trainers with decent grips are recommended for the outdoor sessions. Comfortable non-restrictive training clothes are the best option and in cold / wet conditions, gloves are recommended, but not essential.

Q. I’ve never done boxing before, does it matter?
A. We don’t do any actual boxing at the fitness sessions, so no need to worry. We’ll show you the basics and help you with your form during the box fit sessions which are all about keeping fit.

Q. How do I contact you?
A. Via out contact form, Facebook Messenger, the Facebook page or phone 07800 815314

Barriers to Fitness

We all have at least one thing that stops us from exercising, trust me I know, I had a few!!

Here are a few examples taken from the NHS Live Well Website: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/overcoming-the-barriers-to-exercise/

⛔️ ‘I don’t have time’
This is a common blocker, but it’s like anything you want to do: you have to prioritise and manage your schedule so that it fits in. You can break your activity into 10-minute chunks.

⛔️ ‘I’m too tired’
Exercise might not be top on your list after a hard day’s work. But the tiredness you feel may just be mental fatigue, and you may find you feel more energised if you do some exercise.

⛔️ ‘I don’t have the willpower’
If you need help staying motivated, you could exercise with a friend or family member, so you can encourage each other. It means you’ve got someone to report to, to explain why you didn’t turn up, or someone you can share your lack of motivation with. You can also get the same motivation from joining a club, like a local running club.

If you prefer to train alone, you could use an exercise app, like Couch to 5K, which can monitor and reward your progress. You could also start a diary or a blog.

⛔️ ‘I don’t like exercise’
There are so many ways of being active – it’s just a case of finding something you enjoy. One of the easiest ways to fit more activity into your day is to use walking or cycling as a means of getting about.

⛔️ ‘It’s hard work’
A common mistake is trying to achieve too much, too soon. If exercising feels too hard, you’ll be put off. Choose an activity you enjoy. Start slowly and build up gradually. You’ll still be making progress and will enjoy it more.

⛔️ ‘The weather’s bad’
It’s tempting to skip a session if the weather’s bad. But you’re less likely to use the weather as an excuse if you’ve arranged to exercise with a friend or if you’re following a training programme.

⛔️ ‘I’ve fallen off the wagon’
Christmas, summer holidays, pregnancy: life has a habit of derailing a well-oiled exercise routine. Getting back on the wagon is never easy, so the key is to find a spark to get you motivated again.

✅ If you’re tired of reasons NOT to exercise, get in touch and we’ll help you get started on your fitness path 💪😀
